NLC Rejects Hike In Petrol Price, Electricity Tariff As Protest Looms
User Avatar Forum: General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 09-03-2020, 11:46 AM - No Replies

Quote:There may be demonstration nationwide as the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) yesterday rejected the hike in prices of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) popularly known as petrol and electricity tariff.

Ayuba Wabba, the president of the NLC while rejecting the increase yesterday said his organisation has began consulting state organs on the next line of action.

While the price of petrol was increased to N162 yesterday, electricity tariff which doubled more than twice was enforced nationwide on Tuesday. Several groups including the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has rejected the increase, calling on the All Progressive Congress (APC) led administration headed by President Muhammadu Buhari to backtrack on its decision.

“It is like Nigerians are being taken for a ride,” Mr Wabba told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja yesterday.

“The increase in price of petroleum is like adding salt to injury.

“The increase in price of petroleum has happened now more than three times in three months.

“Only yesterday they hiked the tariff of electricity.

“The organised labour therefore rejects the increase in price of the product in the strongest terms.

“At the end of the day, Nigerians are becoming poorer and poorer.

“In fact, many people are already on the edge.

“Many workers are already on the edged.

“Certainly, we cannot guarantee industrial peace and harmony, and we will have to call our organs and we will have to also react, but we reject it in its entirety.

“They have betrayed the trust of Nigerians.

“For Nigerians to be protected against the economic challenge that is affecting us,” the NLC president said.

Femi Fani-Kayode On N162 Fuel Price: Nigerians Should Expect More From Buhari
User Avatar Forum: General Discussion

Quote:A former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has said Nigerians should expect more hardships from President Muhammadu Buhari’s government.

Reacting to the increase in pump price of premium motor spirit (PMS) otherwise known as petrol to N162 per litre with effect from September 2, 2020, Fani-Kayode in a post on his social media handles said he predicted that Nigerians will be worse off if the All Progressives Congress (APC) was elected in 2015.

He also said that he warned Nigerians in 2015 but they rejected the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former President Goodluck Jonathan.

Daily Devotional for Thursday 3rd September

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

THURSDAY 3RD SEPTEMBER.

HAVE A PERSONAL PRAYER CULTURE

Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you (Jeremiah 29:12).

The Lord called us to pray because He planned to answer. It’s therefore important that you have a plan for prayer. If you don’t have a plan for prayer, you’re most unlikely to pray.

There’re lots of activities that could occupy your time and prevent you from praying. You have to make deliberate efforts to have a prayer culture and discipline; you could set an alarm system for reminders. Never be too busy to pray.

Prayer isn’t only when you want something from God. Prayer is that fellowship with the Lord where you talk to and with Him, and you give attention to Him in your spirit, to hear what He has to say to you. Every Christian must have such times.

If you’ve had challenges doing this consistently, you can ask the Lord to guide you in planning your personal prayer schedule. Don’t neglect it. There’re corporate prayer times where you participate in prayer programs and services, maybe in your church or cell group, but that’s different from having your personal prayer schedule.

Someone may say, “Well, I pray once a week, not every day.” No, that’s not good enough. Have a prayer schedule for every day, because it helps you have a spiritual consciousness every day. You may then wonder, “How long should I pray?"

It’s not for anyone to determine for you how long you should pray, but you’ll know if or when you’re not praying enough, because it’s a relationship between you and the Lord. If you think you’re not praying enough, then add more time.

The truth is, the more time you spend in prayer, the more helpful it is to you, because apart from the fact that you’re talking to the Lord, there’s the edification of your spirit that you get from praying. Not only that; there’s also the education of your spirit. No one educates you like the Holy Spirit. In that atmosphere of prayer, He teaches you; He brings you information that enlightens and guides you. Glory to God!

PRAYER

Dear Father, I’m grateful for the opportunity of continuous fellowship with you through prayer. I have the discipline of prayer, and even now, I pray for lost souls around the world, that their hearts be open to accept the Gospel of Christ and be saved.

Also, I pray for Christians who are sick in their bodies, that great grace be directed toward them for healing, restoration and feeling of wellness, in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

Woman dies during baptism after being grabbed by 'mermaids'

A 26-year-old woman iidentified as Rutendo Nhemachena has reportedly died while undergoing baptism at Manyame river in Zimbabwe.

Nhemachena is believed to have been possessed by a mermaid spirit before becoming violent and jumping into the river where the leading prophet, Isaac Manyemba was cleansing men and women with his aide only identified as Mai Manyika or Madzimai Jennifer.

HMetro reported that the people who were with her believed that she had been grabbed by a mermaid and didn’t try to rescue her. Manyemba confirmed the tragic event by saying Nhemachena overpowered him and seemed like she was possessed by a mermaid spirit.

The Prophet said;

Quote:“The two convinced me and I led them to the river where we attended to a number of men and women when Nhemachena suddenly came into the river possessed.
“She pushed all of us and we failed to handle her before she immersed me and disappeared into the water.

“We were comforted by one woman who claimed that her child was once taken by a mermaid when he was seven years old and returned from water at the age of 14."

Nhemachena family spokesperson, Patience Gwebede however denied suggestions that the deceased was abducted by a mermaid. She said the deceased was going to be buried in Chihota after a post mortem.

He said;

Quote:“We are expecting the law to take its course as well as get an explanation from the traditional healer or Madzibaba and Madzimai who were conducting the cleansing ceremony."

National police spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the mishap and said the police are still investigating the circumstances leading to the drowning.

Nurse looks like a 'plastic doll' after spending £55k on 5 boob jobs, yet she plans to do more surgeries

An Australian nurse who spent $100,000 on boob jobs and treatments claims she’s addicted to plastic surgery and plans to get more work done.

Tara Jayne McConachy, 31, from Melbourne, has travelled the world having surgery. She plans to have her eyes re-coloured and ribs removed soon.

The Instagram star spent a hundred thousand Australian dollars on five separate breast augmentations.

She said, according to Daily Star: "I’ve had five breast augmentations – my most recent implant size is 1050cc, tip rhinoplasty, buttocks implants, veneers, botox and fillers."

She claims she’ll never stop having procedures done to meet her dreams of a "plastic doll" look.

The model continued: "I don’t know the exact amount I’ve spent on surgery, but it’s easily in the vicinity of $100k."

Tara was in Europe, having yet more surgery, when the coronavirus lockdown began.

She said: "I had no time to recover properly as Australia was urging residents that were overseas to immediately return home as the borders were closing.

"Thank god I had my mum with me because I couldn’t have done it without her!"

Tara added: "There is no limit for me when it comes to plastic surgery.

"It is incredibly addictive and I already want bigger breasts!

"As soon as travel is permitted, I have plans to go back overseas to visit my surgeon and get my breast size increased to 1500cc [from their current 1050ccc]."

Before surgery

She continued: "I’m also exploring changing my eye colour to an even more vibrant green, plus fixing my eyelids with a canthoplasty, blepharoplasty and a brow lift.

"While I'm at it I'll probably be getting cheek implants, a mini facelift and I'm even looking into the possibility of having ribs removed for a more tapered waist."

Tara began financing her surgeries with an OnlyFans account this month and says it’s been a "smart move". She claims she made $10,000 in the first three days.

Tara’s most shocking feature is her lips.

She said: "My lips are definitely my statement.

"I always make sure they’re nice and plump and get regular injections.

"I’ve definitely lost count of how much product is in there!

"I’m finally happy with how they look so now it’s just all about maintenance."

Tara adds that she feels younger, thanks to surgery. She says she feels closer to 21 than 31.

She said: "I’m like a fine wine, I only get better with age. And, of course, surgery!"

Elephant attacks bicycle rider and seizes his bicycle

A video making the rounds shows the moment an elephant attacked a bicycle rider and seized his bicycle.

In the video, the bicycle rider is seen lying on the floor beside his bicycle while the elephant towers over him.

The man, who appears to be overcome by fear, didn't run, instead, he lay there.

Eyewitnesses who filmed the incident appear too afraid to go close to help the bicycle rider. From a distance, they scream at the elephant in a foreign language.

At one point, the elephant lifts the man's bicycle before dropping it to the ground. The elephant then stands over the man and appears ready to stomp him with its feet.

"Pardon, pardon," the eyewitnesses scream with a sense of urgency.

They also appear to be screaming at the man to escape and the man eventually gathers himself up and runs off.

It is not clear in which African country the incident happened.

Husband bites off his wife's ear in Niger state (graphic)

A married woman in Niger state, Dorcas Uange, has lost her right ear after her husband of 17 years, Aduku Sunny White, allegedly bit it off during an argument at their home situated at Kaduna road back of Zuma barracks in Suleja, Niger state on August 28.

Sharing the sad incident with LIB, the daughter of the victim, Agatha, a student of Federal Polytechnic in Bida. said her mother and her stepfather, Aduku Sunny White, have been married for over 17 years. Her mother is the third wife of Mr. Aduku and they have three children together. Agatha said her mother had her from a previous relationship before she got married to Mr. Aduku who is a traditional doctor.

Agatha said immediately her mother got married to Mr. Aduku, he barred her from working and compelled her to become a fulltime housewife. She claimed her stepfather subjected her to emotional abuse, insulting her at the slightest opportunity irrespective of where they find themselves.

She told LIB that her mother stayed in the union despite all the sadness and pain her husband allegedly caused her. According to her, she was made to go live with her stepfather's brother because he never wanted her in his house.

She said trouble started when after a recent quarrel they had, Mr. Aduku called his brother and instructed him to throw her out of his house and allegedly threatened to severe his relationship with his brother if he doesn't do his bidding

Quote:'' My mum and my stepfather had some issues and so I went to stay with the brother who is a pastor living in town. He called the brother and asked the brother to send me out of his house and that if he still wants to remain his brother, he should chase me out of the house. The brother had no option, he gave me some money and asked me to leave.

When my mother heard that my stepfather asked his brother to send me away from his house, she said she cannot sleep in his own house and be eating while she doesn't know where I was . She had to leave the house so she can look for me. She had other children with him so she left them with him so she can look for me.

Meanwhile I looked for a one room apartment at Dantata area. My mum said she would come and join me. When she told my stepfather that she was going to look for me, he told her that if she goes out, she should never come back into his house. My mum said yes it is better, she will go.

When she came to meet me, she started looking for work because for the past 17 years they have been married, he stopped her from working and going to school. He just wants her to sit at home doing nothing and if she asks him for money, he will insult her even in the presence of people.'' she said

Agatha said her stepfather began calling everyone in their family, accusing her of leaving his home and abandoning their three children with him.

She told LIB that her stepfather was so enraged that he allegedly took her photo and that of her mother's, did a voice note claiming they were both lesbians and that they absconded from his house to practice lesbianism. Agatha claimed he posted the voice note with their photos on his Whatsapp status and it was seen by many people who downloaded it and started sharing it.

Quote:''He took our picture, did voice note and wrote some things, claiming that we were Lesbians. He alleged that I initiated my mother into Lesbianism. He posted it on Whatsapp, looked for my friends and schoolmates and shared it'' she said

According to Agatha, she filed a complaint at the Sabon Wuse divisional police station because she feared her school might expel her if they get to know of the false accusation.

Quote:''We reported the case. The police went to his house, arrested him and brought him to the station. When the police asked for evidence to prove the allegation of lesbianism, he started pleading, saying he ws angry when he made the allegation. He told the police that we were not lesbians and that he was annoyed and that is why he was just looking for a way to spoil my image.'' she said

Agatha said after much pleading, she asked the police to release him and withdrew the case only on grounds that he does another voice note where he would debunk the allegations of lesbianism.  She said he agreed, did the voice note, and published it on his Whatsapp status.

Agatha said her stepfather called her mother's people to inform them that they need to ensure that their sister returns back to his house so she can take care of their three children as his other wife cannot do that. She said her mum spoke with her family and insisted that she will only return back to his house if he will allow her go back to school and start working..

Quote:''My mother said before she will go back to his house, she wants to go back to school, have a job where she will leave the house in the morning and come back in the evening and that he should rent a house for her outside because when she was in the house, he will abuse her morning, afternoon and night, accusing her of stealing. He never trusts my mother. Whenever he is eating and his phone rings, he will ask his other wife to come and seat near his food as he doesn't trust my mother.'' she said

Agatha explained that her mother's relative came from the village to Suleja to see if they could resolve the matter. She said her mother's older sister and brother who were now like her parents, arrived Suleja on Thursday, August 27. They went for a meeting in her stepfather's house on Friday, August 28.

She said at the meeting, her stepfather started calling her mother a prostitute. According to her, the older siblings got infuriated by his action and insisted they were going to leave with their sister as they came there to resolve their issues and not create more.

Quote:''We were about leaving when he drew my mother back with so much force. She fell on the chair and he jumped on her. He had his mouth on her ears. He bit off the complete ear and spat it on the floor. With tension and fear, we started crying and shouting. He disappeared immediately.

We ran to the nearest hospital in Kerife to see if they would be able to attach the ear back. When we got there, the staff said this was beyond what they can handle. They referred us to Gwagwalada. This was around past 10pm already.

I went out crying to look for a car that will carry us to Gwagwalada. I saw one man who said it was too late for him to go to Gwagwalada but that he would be able to take us to Suleja hospital but that we will have to pay him. I said no problem. He drove us there, we paid him but the hospital said they could not treat her because he uprooted the ear completely.'' she told LIB

Agatha said the hospital then referred them to another hospital and also advised them to ensure they place the detached ear inside iceblock so that it would not die. She said there was nowhere they could get ice block and so they got ice sachet water, placed the detached ear in between the sachet water, and tied it in nylon as they continued their search for help.

Quote:''On getting to the new hospital, they told us that the doctor wasn't on sit until tomorrow morning. We cried like we were not going to cry in this life again. Since it was an emergency, we said let us try another hospital. This was few minutes past 11pm. We came out of the hospital, there was no car going to town.

We saw one man, we begged him to carry us. We didn't even tell the man that we didn't have transport again because we knew he would not carry us. We said take us to one hospital that is close to my working place.

On getting there, I told my people to take my mother inside while I started begging the driver. I explained to him that we were not having any money on us and that if had told him, he would not have carried us. The man said there is no problem and left us alone.

Getting into the hospital, the doctor said he cannot sew the ear back since it was completely uprooted and that the ear was already dead. He said what he can just do is to treat the face of the wound, give her some injections and pain relief and just seal it up.
We didn't have any other thing to do than to bury the dead ear.''

Agatha said she reported the matter to the police who invited her stepfather. He has been arraigned before a Sharia court in the state but Agatha says she is not convinced her mother will get justice with the way the court is handling the matter. She says her stepfather has been released by the police as they claim he cannot be detained for more than 24 hours.

She said she and her mum visited the National Human Rights Commission in Abuja on Tuesday, September 1 but were asked to make their complaint in writing and that there were several other persons before them who need to be attended to.

She is seeking justice for her mum.

LIB contacted the spokesperson of the state police command, Abiodun Wasiu for his comment. He promised to revert as soon as possible.

I warned Nigerians - Fayose reacts as petrol price rises to N151.56 per litre

Former Governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose has reacted to the increment of fuel price which has been confirmed in an internal memo issued by the Pipelines and Product Marketing Company.

LIB reported earlier that the pump price of premium motor spirit (PMS) otherwise known as petrol has been increased to N151.56 per litre, effective from today September 2, 2020.

Reacting to this, Fayose recalled how he warned Nigerians. The former Governor who queried the rationale for the increase, said the decision was taken when other countries are adopting measures to reduce the effects of COVID-19 lockdown on their citizens.

He tweeted;

Quote:Petrol is now N151.56. The increment was made when other countries are adopting measures to reduce the effects of COVID-19 lock down on their citizens. Just in case those who led the Save Nigeria protests across Nigeria during PDP govt of Jonathan are not aware. I warned.

40 Northern NBA Chairmen Pledge Allegiance To Akpata

Quote:distances themselves from Northern splinter group

Forty leaders of the northern geopolitical zone of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, on Wednesday, distanced themselves from moves to divide the legal body.

The chairmen, in a communique they issued at the end of a meeting they held at the NBA Headquarters in Abuja, pledged their allegiance to the National President of the association, Mr. Olumide Akpata and his executives.

While disassociating themselves from plot by some young northern lawyers to form a splintered body to be known as “New NBA”, the Chairmen, urged the aggrieved members to sheath their sword and support the Akpata-led executives to build a united Bar for legal practitioners in the country.

The communique was signed by all the Chairmen of NBA branches in the northern geopolitical zone and read by the Acting Chairman, Arewa Lawyers Forum, Mr. Elisha Yakubu Kurah, SAN.

It read: “We the undersigned individuals, who are Chairmen of the various branches of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) that make up the Northern Geopolitical Zone as defined in the NBA Constitution 2015, and other senior members of the Bar have today Wednesday 2nd September 2020 in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, met with the NBA President, Mr. Olumide Akpata and the National Officers of the NBA.

“We have unanimously agreed to support his leadership of the NBA, and we hereby restate our true allegiance to the NBA and disassociate ourselves from the “New NBA” or any splitter group whatsoever making the waves in recent weeks as a new association/body of lawyers in Nigeria.

“We understand that the NBA has historically and in recent times been fraught with several challenges but we are indeed assured that the NBA under the leadership of Mr. Olumide Akpata will surmount these challenges and birth an all-inclusive Bar that will work for all Lawyers in Nigeria regardless of any part of the divide one may belong.

“We were gratified to hear the NBA President during his inaugural address restate that the Bar that he wants to lead henceforth is one that is united on all fronts and which recognises that our diversity is our greatest strength.

“At the meeting today, Mr. Akpata reassured us that his administration is very keen on ensuring that we not have only a united Bar but also an indivisible one, and we verily believe in him.

“We, therefore, urge all lawyers not only of the Northern Geopolitical Zone, including those behind the establishment of the NNBA but indeed all legal practitioners in Nigeria to please come together to support Mr. Olumide Akpata and the new national officers to ensure that they deliver on all their core mandates whilst indeed putting the rule of law, the welfare and capacity development of our members at the forefront.

“We thank the NBA President, Mr Olumide Akpata and all the national officers of the NBA for having this meeting with us as one of their first official acts after their inauguration last Friday, which is only indicative of the value they place on the need for an all-inclusive Bar and we wish them a very successful tenure and also reassure Mr President of our total support for his administration and pledge our allegiance to the NBA at large”.

Earlier in his remarks, the NBA President, Akpata, said he would reach out to all aggrieved members of the association.

“At the NBA we remain one, united and indivisible. We have not split along ethnic or religious lines. We disagree and agree as lawyers. We will learn from past mistakes.

“Only those who refuse to learn from past mistakes are doomed. Due apology to those offended. We are committed to making NBA better and to also build our nation to be stronger.

“Lawyers will not be in the vanguard to break up our country. Where our country is going wrong, we as lawyers will give the light. We are here to build Nigeria and not to destroy it. All is well with us in the NBA and we are doing well. If there is still any group aggrieved, we will reach out to the group.

“Our ability to surmount challenges make us leaders. We will remain focused because expectations are high. We in the NBA will speak loud to support the teeming people of this country on issues affecting them. 40 Chairmen from the Northern zone are here and they have spoken in one voice that our association is not polarized.

“We are one association and by extension, we are one in one Nigeria”, Akpata added.

Report had emerged last Thursday that some lawyers of Northern extraction had formed a new ‘Nigerian Bar Association’ with the aim of protecting their interests as encapsulated under Section 40 of the Constitution.

In a statement reportedly signed by arrowheads of the group, Nuhu Ibrahim and Abdulbasit Suleiman, they claimed that recent happenings in the legal body, including the dis-invitation of Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai as a speaker in the just-concluded conference of the NBA, exposed the inability of the association to manage and contain the heterogeneity of its members.

The duo said the new group would consult other senior lawyers from the northern extraction so as to co-opt them into the new umbrella body of lawyers from the region, adding that over 5, 000 lawyers indicated interest to join the “New NBA”.

Best-selling author charged with killing 7-month-old daughter in bath, days after public tribute

A best-selling author has been charged with child homicide over the death of her seven-month-old daughter.

Baby Ilen was found unconscious at the family's Southbank home in Melbourne, Australia, at 7.20am on July 18, 7News reports.

Police allege Giovanni left her daughter and two-year-old son in a bath unattended before finding the baby underwater. It is alleged the infant was unresponsive when her mother came back.

Paramedics tried to resuscitate Ilen but she died at the scene.

Fiori Giovanni, 35, was due to face Melbourne Magistrates Court today but her lawyer appeared in court via video link instead.

Court documents state: "The accused at Southbank on 18th July 2020 did kill, a child under the age of 6 years, in circumstances but for the age of [the child] would constitute manslaughter."

The mum, a motivational speaker and TV personality, posted heartbreaking tributes to the little girl online just days after police alleged she killed the child, according to 7News.

In a video shared on social media, Giovanni said: "I tragically lost my little girl. No, I am not ready to talk about it yet, as it is still incredibly fresh. We are still trying to go through it as a family."

She added: "Every time I try to it feels like a thousands knives are stabbing my chest."

Giovanni explained: "Being born in a war torn country, making my way to my western country, adapt a life here with a new language, culture, people, while trying to still keep my identity and build something I could be part of. I thought I had been through the worst type of pain the world has to offer. But I'm quickly realising that the kind of pain that comes from losing a child is a different kind of pain. It's something that takes a piece of you and I don't think you ever get it back. It is something that I have never felt before."

The 35-year-old attempted to have her name suppressed because of her profile but was refused by magistrate Mia Stylianou on Wednesday, it has been reported.

Her lawyer Adrian Lewin, who appeared in court via video link on Wednesday, September 2, said the charges were not because of an intentional act against the baby. Ilen died in the bath while she was not being overseen, he told the court.

Giovanni and her partner Ben Bellinger held the baby's funeral over Zoom as family and friends could not attend in person due to coronavirus restrictions.

Giovanni will next face court on November 25 and her bail conditions have been extended to that date.

PDP rejects N151 fuel price and hike in electricity tariff; says APC is 'punishing' Nigerians

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has rejected the fresh increase in the price of fuel to N151 per liter and electricity tariff to N66 per kwh under the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its government, describing such as ''callous, cruel, and punishing.''

In a statement released by its National spokesperson, Kola Ologbondiyan, the party demanded an immediate reversal of the prices to avert a national crisis. According to the party, the increase will result in an upsurge in the costs of goods and services and worsen the biting hardship being faced by Nigerians, who are already ''impoverished and overburdened by APC-imposed high cost of living in the last five years.''

The statement in part reads

Quote:Our party asserts that by increasing the price of fuel from the N87 per litre it sold under the PDP to an excruciating N151 while at the same time allowing the hike in electricity tariff from N30.23 per kwh to over N66, the APC has left no one in doubt that its agenda is to inflict pain and hardship on Nigerians to satisfy their selfish interests.

The unjustifiable increase in the price of these essential supplies, coming barely a week after the APC brazenly posted a support for fuel price hike, while attempting to rationalize the excruciating hardship being suffered by Nigerians under the Buhari administration, has further confirmed that the APC is at the center of the harsh policies of the Buhari Presidency.

It is distressing that the APC administration increased the cost of essential commodities at the time the leadership of other countries are offering palliatives to their citizens to cushion the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic. It is instructive to add that our nation is doomed under the APC watch.

We know that the APC is an unfeeling party but it is indeed shocking that it could go to the extent of approving such a hike at this trying time, when many Nigerians are struggling to afford staple foods and other necessities of life.

Our party challenges the APC and the Buhari administration to publish the parameters with which it arrived at the increase of fuel price to N151 per liter given that with the prevailing values in the international market, the appropriate price template for domestic pump price in Nigeria ought not to be above N100 per liter.

Our party further challenges the APC-led Federal Government to publish details of its sleazy and over-bloated oil subsidy regime, including the involvement of APC interests in the claimed under-recovery for unnamed West African countries, running into trillions of naira, while Nigerians are made to bear the burden of high fuel costs.

Moreover, the APC and its government have failed to allow an open investigation into allegations of fuel price overcharge as well as the fraudulent subsidy regime through which over N14 trillion had allegedly been frittered by unscrupulous individuals in the APC.

Our fear is that the APC is pushing Nigerians to the wall with its obnoxious and anti-people proclivities and we caution that nobody should misinterpret the peaceful and law-abiding nature of Nigerians as a sign of weakness.

Our party therefore restates our call on the National Assembly to save the nation by calling the APC and its administration to order before they plunge our nation into chaos.

I recently accepted a sales leadership position and was looking for new ways to inspire and drive the team. I came across the concept of sales gamification from this site called https://ambition.com/. It seemed interesting so I gave it a go. It has only been a month using the Ambition Sales Gamification software and sales are booming. Plus, my team seems more passionate than ever to do their job and do it well. Anyone else have any similar experiences with sales gamification?

Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Anto Lecky, opened up about the pressures to keep up as a celebrity.

The former reality star said "too many things have been happening as of late" that forces her to be honest with herself and accept that "life is hard".

She said being a public figure makes it even harder because members of the public put a lot of pressure on them to "have it all together."

She wrote:

Especially as a public figure, yeyebrity, influenza, what have you, we are expected to have it all together. Not sure why because we are humans like the next person. There is a pressure to keep up. We are in a place where our value is based on numbers and not our God-given talent. No lie, shit is fucked up. I just write this to anyone, be it celebrity by social media or celebrity by heart because we all deserve to be celebrated, YOU ARE ENOUGH. YOU ARE MORE THAN ENOUGH.

BREAKING: IPMAN Orders Members To Sell Fuel At N162 Per Litre

 Sep 2, 2020
[Image: Fuel.jpg]

The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has directed its members in the Southwest region of the country to begin sales of the Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) popularly referred to as petrol at N162 per litre.

The southwest Zonal Chairman of IPMAN, Alhaji ‘Dele Tajudeen in a telephone chat with journalists in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital, said his members would be left with no other option than to dispense the product at a price of N162.

Tajudeen said, the directive followed the increase in the deport loading price of the product by the federal government, which placed a new price regime of the product at N151. 56k.

He explained that since the federal government has decided and puts the price of the product at N151. 56k, IPMAN has no option than to sell at N162 to be able to meet up with the overhead cost.

Tajudeen said IPMAN members would have to make provision for the cost of diesel to run generator that will power the dispensing machines; pay the cost of transporting the fuel from the depot to their respective filling stations and also settle their statutory levies with the appropriate regulatory agencies.

That by the time they finish paying all these levies, the cost of discharging fuel at the petroleum filling stations would have shored up to N160, hence dispensing the product at N162 will enable IPMAN members to be able to pay the staff bills and the stations’ gains

Trash That National Water Resources Bill 2020 - Guardian News
User Avatar Forum: General Discussion

Quote:TRASH THAT NATIONAL WATER RESOURCES BILL 2020
Guardian Newspaper Editorial
By Editorial Board

A recent reintroduction of the vexatious National Water Resources Bill, which was rejected in 2018 by the National Assembly (NASS) is curious at this time.

President Muhammadu Buhari, whose office returned the Bill, must have some inexplicable motive for pushing it at all cost. The surreptitious plot to ram it through the federal legislature speaks volume for some hidden agenda.

That Bill is suspicious. A Bill that is out to rob many people, in broad day light, of their means of livelihood cannot but attract resentment and condemnation.

It is inconceivable that indigenous peoples, especially, in the South and Middle Belt regions of Nigeria would accept to be alienated from their God-given water resources. The National Assembly would do well to once again, trash the Bill to save the country from avoidable conflagration. The representatives of the people had better let the sleeping dog lie to avoid another round of crisis in the already volatile polity.

The repugnant and detestable land-grabbing Bill, which obviously is suspected to grant Fulani herdsmen and Miyeti Allah cattle breeders unfettered access to land and water resources in Southern Nigeria, can only trigger national upheaval.

Coming at a time when Nigerians are clamouring for proper federalism that entails devolution of powers to the states and local authorities, the introduction of a Water Resources Bill by President Buhari, to further alienate the people is unfortunate. The president should withdraw the bill in public interest.

When the Bill was first introduced in the 8th Senate, it generated controversy across the country, because of its desire to have the Federal Government take control of lands and water resources in the country. The perception by the public that the Bill was a decoy to advance the interest of the cattle herding Fulani population was palpable.

Though the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, had reportedly raised concerns over the piece of legislation, by querying, “is this not the same Bill that generated controversy in the media,” he still allowed it to pass. And the question is why? Why did he not shut it down knowing the gravity of the implications of the Bill if passed into law?

The Bill, entitled “National Water Resources Bill, 2020,” was arbitrarily reintroduced in the Green Chamber, in breach of its rules, legislative convention and provisions of the 1999 constitution before the House adjourned for a two-month recess on Thursday, July 23, 2020.

It was therefore shocking that on Thursday, July 23, 2020, the House had, in referring to Order 12, Rule 16 of the Standing Orders of the House of Representatives, 9th Edition, passed the National Water Resources Bill, 2020 and committed it to a “Committee of the Whole”, for third reading and final passage. The presentation of the Bill was done by the House Chairman on Rules and Business, Fulata.

Analysts say the referral of the Bill to the Committee of the Whole breached Order 12, Rule 16 of the Standing Orders of the House. Though the Order states that such a bill from a preceding Assembly be gazetted and clean copies circulated, reports say none of that was done.

The Bill seeks to bring all water resources (surface and underground) and the banks of the water sources under the control of the Federal Government through its agencies to be established by the Bill.

Section 13 of the Bill, states, “in implementing the principles under subsection (2) of this section, the institutions established under this Act shall promote integrated water resources management and the coordinated management of land and water resources, surface water and ground water resources, river basins and adjacent marine and coastal environment and upstream and downstream interests.”

Section 2(1) of the Bill, says: “All surface water and ground water wherever it occurs, is a resource common to all people.’’ The Bill is primed for passage by the House on their resumption from recess next month, which is September.

Reacting to the secret plot to pass the bill, the Southern, Middle Belt Leaders Forum (SMBLF), called on Nigerians to be ready for a protracted resistance to the move by the lawmakers.

The authorities in Abuja should not ignore the warning statement by the Southern and Middle Belt Forum on this hot potato. In their statement: “The Southern and Middle Belt Leaders Forum calls on all the communities opposed to the bill, meant to grab land around waterways for cattle herders, to use the break time to organize community special sittings for their representatives to explain the meaning of this latest move and their roles in it.” The Bill, if passed into law, will clip the wings of state and local government authorities as well as individuals from making use of the water at their backyard without permit from Abuja. This development will engender serious contentions across Nigeria. The result would be water wars, which would be more devastating than the contentions over grazing land and even oilfields.

A 42-year-old cannabis farmer identified as Clement Akor who was arrested by operatives of Kogi state's command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), has begged for his life to be taken rather than his 10-hectare cannabis plantation being destroyed.

The father of 6 who was arrested alongside his accomplice David Ameh at Enabo village in Ankpa Local Government Area of Kogi State, stated that he has invested so much in his farm to lose it.

Admitting that he is aware of the law banning the sale of Cannabis Sativa, Akor said;

Quote:”I am the owner of this farm. I learnt it in Yoruba land. When I cultivated one last year, it was stolen. So it is this year I bought seed from Yoruba land to plant new ones before I was caught.

“Indian hemp business is luck. In this farm, I can get many bags here. I do sell one bag for N20,000 depending on the area am selling it. It could be more. I spent N12,000 for labour in cultivating this farm. It better you people kill me than destroy this farmland.

“This is my business. I spent a lot to allow this plant to grow up to this level. In the next two weeks, I am supported to harvest it. Now you people have come here to destroy it. Just kill me, so that I won’t see you people destroying what I have laboured for. I am looking for money because I am illiterate. I don’t want to engage in armed robbery or kidnapping that is why I am into this business of Indian hemp”.

NDLEA commander, Alfred Adewumi confirmed the arrest of the suspects and also disclosed that they were nabbed through intelligence.

Adewumi said;

Quote:“Seeing they say is believing. What you are seeing today is certainly more than three football Field but together. I would make you make your judgment. Just look around, that is the huge expanse. We just left the first farm which is equally a huge cannabis plantation.

” This is very unfortunate. I am worried about this unfortunate development. I have thought that Kogi State will not descend to this point. As things stand today, it will be direct self-denial to begin to say that Kogi State is not planting Cannabis Sativa because the evidence itself suggests the fact that there is high planting of Cannabis Sativa in Kogi State.

Sadly Kogi State can also now begin to rank among those state where you find Cannabis Sativa plantations.

“We will not relent in fighting against illicit use of a drug that is why we took the fight to their doorstep. Kogi State is the gateway to a man other states in the north, south, east and western parts of this country.

“I had promised at the point of my deployment to Kogi State that I won’t give room for anybody to turn Kogi State to a drug cultivation State. And because of that, we have spread out our tentacles, reach out as far as possible with intelligence gathering, this result is why you are seeing today."

The NDLEA commander added that all the suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded.

Kill me rather than destroy my cannabis farm – Suspect begs NDLEA in Kogi

 September 2, 2020
[Image: cannabis.jpg]

A suspected cannabis sativa farmer, Clement Akor, has begged the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA to take his life rather than destroy his 10-hectare cannabis plantation.

Akor, a 42 years old father of six children from Enabo village in Ankpa Local Government Area of Kogi State was arrested by the Kogi State Command of the NDLEA alongside his accomplice David Ameh.
Akor who claimed he had invested so much in the business and cannot afford to lose it to the arms of the law said he learnt the trade in Owo, Ondo State.

The prime suspect who cried profusely to stop men of the NDLEA led by its commander Alfred Adewumi from destroying his farm located in Oketepe in Okula community in Ofu Local Government of Kogi State said he would rather die than watch the officers destroy what he had worked hard for in the last one year.

He noted that he is aware of the law banning the sale of cannabis sativa insisting that it is business which must be followed with risk.

His words” I am the owner of this farm. I learnt it in Yoruba land. When I cultivated one last year, it was stolen. So it is this year that I bought seed from Yoruba land to plant new ones before I was caught.

“Indian hemp business is luck. In this farm, I can get many bags here. I do sell one bag for N20,000 depending on the area I am selling it. It could be more. I spent N12,000 for labour in cultivating this farm. It better you people kill me than destroy this farmland.

“This is my business. I spent a lot to allow this plant to grow up to this level. In the next two weeks, I am supposed to harvest it. Now you people have come here to destroy it. Just kill me, so that I won’t see you people destroying what I have laboured for.

I am looking for money because I am illiterate. I don’t want to engage in armed robbery or kidnapping that is why I am into this business of Indian hemp”.

His action forced the NDLEA commander Alfred Adewumi to calm him down insisting that the war against illicit use of drugs is on course in Kogi State.

Addressing journalists on Wednesday, shortly after the destruction of the large cannabis farm, the Kogi State Commander, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Mr Alfred Adewumi lamented the increasing wave of illicit use and cultivation of cannabis sativa in the state.

Adewumi stated that the two suspects were caught through intelligence gathering by officers of his command.

The commander noted that the latest breakthrough in the fight against illicit use of drugs in Kogi State is coming three days after the command arrested the duo of Endurance Samson and Abah Sunday for alleged possession of 36.2 kilogrammes wrap of cannabis sativa.

“Seeing, they say is believing. What you are seeing today is certainly more than three football fields put together. I would let you make your judgment. Just look around, that is the huge expanse. We just left the first farm which is equally a huge cannabis plantation.

“This is very unfortunate. I am worried about this unfortunate development. I have thought that Kogi State will not descend to this point. “We will not relent in fighting against illicit use of drugs that is why we took the fight to their doorstep. Kogi State is the gateway to other states in the north, south, east and western parts of this country.

Adewumi said all the suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigations were concluded.

2 Huge Male Snakes Fighting Over Female Snake Crash Into Australian Man's House
User Avatar Forum: Other Stories
Posted by: Edoman - 09-02-2020, 05:27 PM - No Replies

Quote:A man's peaceful home was shattered when two large snakes smashed through his kitchen ceiling.

David Tait was shocked when the carpet snakes tumbled on to the kitchen floor of his Brisbane home.

Measuring 2.8m and 2.5m long and weighing 22kg between, the sizeable reptiles then slithered to the bedroom and living room.

Pictures of the aftermath show several ceiling tiles were destroyed in the plummet.

Steve Brown, of Brisbane North Snake Catchers, said the animals were “some of the biggest and fattest” he’d ever seen. He suggested they were fighting over a third, female snake.

That snake has not been located, leading to concerns that it is still in Mr Tait's house. The homeowner expressed concerns at the notion.

He told Today: "'I don't care what size it is, I'm not keen on it." Thankfully carpet snakes are not venomous.

He said that he had seen snakes around his property before, but never actually in the house.

“We have a lot of bush around here so you do see snakes, but I’d never seen snakes of that size,’’ Mr Tait said.

The two snakes were relocated to a state forest close by.

‘We are suffering’ – Nigerians lament increase in petrol price to N151.56pl by Buhari govt

A cross-section of Nigerians has called out President Muhammadu Buhari’s government over the increase of petrol price to N151.56 per litre.

The Pipelines and Product Marketing Company (PPMC), a subsidiary of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC on Wednesday announced the increment in the pump price of petrol.
The new price takes effect from September 2, 2020.
The announcement has stirred reactions from Nigerians on social media accusing the Buhari-led government of inflicting hardship on citizens.

Some users on Twitter said the new pump price will result in a hike in food items and transportation which is unfair to Nigerians especially at a time when businesses are staggering due to COVID-19 pandemic.
Here are some comments gathered by DAILY POST from Twitter;

@Codshallom77 “This next level is really shaping up to something else! TAXES are being raised across the board, levies and petrol pump prices are going higher and income levels of Nigerians have dwindled! Nigeria’s socialism is fast destroying her.”

@OlubunmiMayaki “The Buhari administration is so insensitive to the plight of Nigerians. It has increased taxes, petrol pump price, electricity tariff, stamp duty etc. at a time of global pandemic. Unbelievable!

@BhadmusAkeem “Pipelines and Product Marketing Company (PPMC) have directed it’s Stakeholders in Nigeria to increase the price of petrol to N151.56 per litre. For a country that has crude oil deposit, buying at N148 is cruel not to talk of N151.56. Just ask us to leave this country. Simple.”

@Shakur “Our crime for all these inflation is being Nigerians. Electricity tariff increased, Petrol price increased, now watch the price of solar equipment increase also and other things such as cold water and soft drinks increase. I pray we 2023 as a nation.”

@Collins “Why did petrol price go up? Nigerians citizens are already suffering, everything will go up again in the market, supermarkets, shame on the APC Government.”

@Raymond “N151.56/litre is the new petrol price. All of this increase in a freaking pandemic. Oh I forgot, Nigerians are very strong people. ”

@Letter_to_jack “How Nigerians occupied the streets because GEJ increased Petrol price to 140/L and are moving on as if nothing happened now that it’s 150/L is a mystery.”

@Jeremiahrmg “Petrol price now selling at N151.Nigerians deserve a better policy from this administration.”

@Mc_matj “So you guys ain’t done yet. We pleaded with you guys to reduce the petrol price and you found it difficult to do it effectively. Immediately lockdown was lifted we have seen effective and reoccurring price increase.”

@Patpaulj “This government has increased electricity tariff even in this pandemic. VAT hike, stamp duty, petrol price hike etc. All you do is take and take from Nigerians.”

@Kamaldinda13 “Buhari is trying so hard to make Nigerians poorer. From numerous taxes and charges down to an increase in price of everything, ranging from food to petrol.”

COVID-19: 'Someday, Everyone Will Know That They Have Been Deceived' - Bishop Oyedepo

[Image: COVID-19%2B%2527Someday%252C%2BEveryone%...y%2BHa.jpg]
Bishop David Oyedepo
Presiding Bishop of Living Faith Church Worldwide, David Oyedepo has given a fresh opinion on the existence of COVID-19, and the safety protocol put in place to curb the spread of the virus, saying the world will one day realize that they have been deceived.

Oyedepo said this during the Church's Covenant Hour of Prayer, CHoP, where he also said that he wouldn’t observe any protocols, not even wear a gloves, in other to pray for any COVID-19 patients.

Oyedepo said;

Quote:“August is almost gone. We are in the 9th hour as it were, we are going to step into the 11th hour shortly: it is not late, you can connect.

“COVID-19 cannot be any reason why your own ‘Breaking Limit’ package will not be delivered. It’s not a tenable reason. No circumstance on earth will make the covenant of God have no effect.

“You can imagine a medical doctor, going back there to minister to coronavirus patients (documented testimony). He found something, while others are scared by everything they can see.

“Can you imagine anyone bringing coronavirus patient to me and I won’t lay hands on him? Will I wear gloves to lay hands on them? I will lay hands on them; breathe into them; embrace them. What you carry is eternal life, it’s not human life. You should know that."

The Bishop went further to say that covering of the nose and mouth is the devils plan to dehumanize humanity, adding that the world will soon be free from the harassment of the devil.

Quote:“You’ll now wear everything like a doctor, you have never been in a theatre in your life. You will be moving like somebody is under some attack.

Someday, they will know that they have been deceived. They will all know that they have been grossly deceived.

"You’ve covered your mouth, do you cover it when you want to eat or there is no coronavirus when you are eating? I just look at it and say, “what is all this?

“It’s all the devil trying to dehumanize humanity. Don’t go near old people, yet you are buying food from them!

"Do you ask somebody of her age when you want to buy food: “Hello Mama, what’s your age?” Age of what? Get out, my friend. I am selling something and you’re asking my age.

“The world will be free. I have a Liberation Mandate to this generation: my job is to see human beings set free from all harassment of the devil. Enough is Enough! Receive grace to constantly celebrate the Word of God; to embrace the Word of God by putting it to work in faith,” he said

A father was arrested for allegedly killing his wife and two teenage sons "because he had a headache and was tired of them yelling."

James Lee Webb, 57, was arrested and charged with capital murder after calling the cops on himself on Monday, August 31, 2020.

Webb and his wife, Victoria Ronack Bunton, began arguing at around 10am on Monday morning after he complained of having a headache and that her sons, aged 13 and 16, were being too loud, according to the affidavit.

During the argument Webb allegedly produced a handgun and shot Bunton, before killing both of the teenagers.

Webb waited one hour and then called 911 and confessed, the document states.

When cops arrived they took him into custody. When he was later interviewed, Webb allegedly told a detective that he was tired of his family yelling at him and telling him there was nothing wrong with him.

He is currently being held at Lew Sterrett Jail and his bond will be determined by a Dallas County Magistrate.

Neighbor Chanel Lockhart told Fox4: "Last time I saw her, she was getting groceries out of the car and the boys were helping her.

"You would never think that he would do that. And she had a heart. She was so sweet to everybody.

"You'd never think that one day he would call and say he killed his kids."

Another neighbor, Justice Johnson, told the outlet: "I've been knowing them for two years, going with their mama to the grocery store, helping with groceries, getting on the school bus."

Her daughter, Sylvia, added: "I didn't talk to them as much. But when I did come outside, they'd speak. They didn't just walk past me. They'd be like, 'hey.'"

Obaseki Condoles With Oshiomhole, Ize-iyamu Over Crash, Death Of Security Aides
User Avatar Forum: General Discussion

Quote:The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has condoled with former governor of the state, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole and the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Osagie Ize-Iyamu, over a road accident involving top chieftains of the APC in the party’s campaign entourage.

In a statement forwarded to Igbere TV on Tuesday, the governor commiserated with the families of the victims of the crash and prayed that God grants them the fortitude to bear the loss of their loved ones.

According to him, “I received the news of the accident with shock and commiserate with the former governor of Edo State, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole and the candidate of the APC in the forthcoming governorship election, Osagie Ize-Iyamu over the very unfortunate incident involving their security aides and top chieftains of the party in the campaign team.”

He added, “While we pray for strength for the families of the deceased persons, we also pray for the quick recovery of those who were injured and are receiving treatment.”

Igbere TV had reported how Oshiomhole, a former national chairman of the APC narrowly escaped death by the whiskers in Benin City, on Tuesday.

Igbere TV gathered from multiple source that two policemen in the former Edo governor’s convoy, however, lost their lives with others sustaining various degrees of injury.

The incident happened Tuesday afternoon when a trailer ran into the travelling campaign entourage of the APC, while on their way from the just concluded Edo North ward-to-ward rallies.

Accident: An Assassination Attempt Against Oshiomhole - Victor Oshioke
User Avatar Forum: News
Posted by: Edoman - 09-02-2020, 09:58 AM - No Replies

Quote:TWO policemen, yesterday, died in an accident involving the campaign convoy of former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, while he was on his way to Usen in Ovia SouthWest local government area.

The accident was said to have happened at about 1pm around the by-pass in Oluku Ovia North East local government area.

As a result of the incident, the candidate of the APC, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, has called off his rally at Usen.

It was gathered that a trailer ran into the travelling campaign convoy hitting the back-up vehicle that the police were riding in.

In a statement, the Chairman of the APC Media Campaign Council, Mr. John Mayaki, said it was suspending the scheduled campaign to honour the dead.

On behalf of Pastor Ize-Iyamu and the APC, Mayaki condoled with the families of the victims, saying they were not alone in their grief and pledged that the campaign would do everything within its powers to ameliorate their grief.

Reaching out to the families of the policemen involved in the fatal crash, the campaign said Edo would never forget their supreme sacrifice.

The Publicity Secretary of the APC, Chris Azebamwan said Oshiomhole was okay and that they were waiting for more details from security agencies.

Several calls to the Commissioner of Police, Johnson Kokumo were not picked and same for the Police Public Relations Officer, Chidi Nwabuzor.

The Sector Commander of the Federal Roads Safety Commission, FRSC, Henry Benamaisa, said he was waiting for the police to give details before he could officially release same to the public. He said he has deployed his personnel to the area to get details.

Oshiomhole’s convoy accident, an assassination attempt, says aide

However, Oshiomhole’s Meia Aide, Victor Oshioke described the accident as an assassination attempt.

In a statement, he said Oshiomhole’s convoy was driving at a regulated speed limit when a trailer driving in the same direction rammed into the convoy pushing the police back-up into the bush and hitting the vehicle Oshiomhole was riding in.

The statement said: “Some minutes after 12 pm today Tuesday September 1, 2020, there was a motor accident involving the convoy of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, along Benin Lagos by-pass before Oluku junction. The convoy was headed to Usen Community in Ovia South West Local Government Area of Edo State, where Comrade Adams Oshiomhole was expected to appear at a campaign rally alongside Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, the APC governorship candidate in the September 19, 2020 election in the state, when a trailer driving in the same direction veered off its course, hit the back up Toyota Hilux vehicle carrying 7 policemen, forcing it off the road, into the bush and rammed into the Sports Utility vehicle carrying Comrade Oshiomhole, causing substantial damage.

“We are sad to report that two police personnel in the Toyota Hilux truck lost their lives while two others are in critical condition receiving treatment at a hospital in the state.

“Comrade Adams Oshiomhole and other persons in the convoy , apart from those indicated above did not sustain any injuries.

“It is pertinent to state, without fear of contradiction, that the convoy of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole was maintaining legal speed limits when this incident occurred. This explains why the trailer, travelling in the same direction over ran the Hilux truck off the road and still hit the SUV carrying Comrade Oshiomhole, causing substantial damage.

“Without prejudice to police investigations, eyewitnesses account of the incident suggest, and we believe rightly too, that this was an assassination attempt, targeting Comrade Adams Oshiomhole. “It is painful that innocent policemen performing their legal duties lost their lives in this very unfortunate incident.

“While we pray for the quick recovery of the injured policemen, we extend our condolences to the families of the departed.

Protests In Ibadan Over Alleged Secession Agenda Of Yoruba Nation
User Avatar Forum: General Discussion
Posted by: Edoman - 09-02-2020, 09:55 AM - No Replies

Quote:...As YWC passes vote of confidence on Akintoys's leadership

Two leading Yoruba socio-cultural groups are currently at loggerheads over the alleged secession agenda being championed by one of the groups for the South West of Nigeria to break away from Nigeria and become an independent nation.

The two groups are Yoruba World Congress (YWC), which is an umbrella body over more than 150 pan-Yoruba self-determination organisations, under the leadership of its President-General, Prof Banji Akintoye, as well as the Yoruba Appraisal Forum (YAF), under the leadership of Adeshina Animashaun.

The YWC addressed a press conference at its headquarters, Bodija, Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, on Tuesday and re-established a vote of absolute confidence in the leadership of Akintoye. Also, the YAF, staged a peaceful protest march to the Oyo State Governor’s Office, Agodi, Ibadan on the same Tuesday against alleged secession agenda of YWC.

The YAF also presented a protest letter to the Governor Seyi Makinde, through his Executive Assistant on Security, Mr. Sunday Odukoya, who said: “We have received your letter. We shall deliver your message to the governor. Now that you have expressed your reservations, we assure you that we shall address the matter.”

The protesters carried placards with inscriptions, inluding: ‘What we need is development, not secession.’ Together we stand, divided we fall.’ ‘Together we stand and love one another.’ ‘Believe in one Nigeria.’ ‘In one Nigeria we stand.’ ‘We are for unity, don’t beat the drum of war.’

But addressing journalists on behalf of YWC, Dr. Tunde Hamzat, dismissed the news making the round that Akintoye was no longer the leader of the Yoruba nation, saying: “The Yoruba World Congress is one and indivisible under the leadership of Emeritus Prof Banji Akintoye. There is no crisis within the YWC. We are not in contention with anyone or group. This is a family issue which is being resolved within the clan.

“We remain unequivocally committed to the ideals of the Yoruba World Congress (YWC) as eloquently expressed by Prof. Banji Akintoye, which are to liberate the Yoruba race from the oppression and persecution which Nigeria represents, to establish a better, more promising future for our teeming youths and to ensure the peaceful achievement of the self-determination goals of the Yoruba nation.

“This is a gathering of all the groups which elected Prof. Banji Akintoye as Yoruba leader a year ago. They are the various groups which came together to form the Yoruba World Congress. These groups are gathered here in Ibadan, one year after that momentous event, to re-establish a vote of absolute confidence in the leadership of Prof. Banji Akintoye.”

Hamzat, who said the brains behind YAF are four members of YWC that were suspended based on certain issues, also noted that Akintoye emerged leader of Yoruba nation on August 22, 2019, and within one year, more than 100 Yoruba, both in Nigeria and in the diaspora, have been admitted into the YWC, saying “our admission into the Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organisation (UNPO) within a year of our existence, is novel and commendable. The Oodua Nation project is on course. We appreciate the efforts of Prof. Banji Akintoye and other leaders in this respect. The protection of lives and properties of the Yoruba and other ethnic nationalities domiciled in the Southt West geo political zone is of paramount importance to YWC leadership.

“We commend the courage exhibited by our governors in the establishment of Amotekun even in the midst of hostility and intimidation by the powers that be. The Water Bill at the National Assembly represents a background manoeuvre to bring back RUGA and further appropriate more of the resources of Yorubaland. It therefore stands totally rejected by the YWC. In equal effect, the CAMA bill cannot stand because it puts the control of one religious group under another. It represents the ruthless deployment of power by the Muslim North to further continue the Islamisation and Fulanisation of Nigeria.”

However, the protest letter, entitled: ‘Please, Save Yorubaland from Imminent Doom!’ signed by Adeshina Animashaun, addressed to Governor Makinde, read in part: “Your Excellency, a motley of crowd of discontents, zealots have lately increased the tempo of their unpatriotic activities masquerading as championing the cause of the Yoruba people of the South-West. Their activities, at best, qualify for nothing good.

“The Yoruba Appraisal Forum is by this statement giving a notice that we, as responsible Yoruba, will not fold our arms and watch a few disgruntled and self-serving individuals to turn our land into a wartorn zone like Somalia and Sudan. If it ever becomes imperative for Yorubaland to break away from the rest of Nigeria, it should be a collective decision of all Yoruba people within Nigeria and in the Diaspora. The recent activities of the Yoruba World Congress and its cohots underscore the need for government and security agencies to be more informed about the decisive tendencies of these groups.”

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

WEDNESDAY 2ND SEPTEMBER.

YOUR FAITH IS A TOOL

And he said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him (Luke 8:25).

Jesus was with His disciples in the boat one day, and a tempest arose. The disciples became afraid and the Bible says, “…they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm” (Luke 8:24).

The Master turned to the disciples and asked them a very pertinent question: “Where is your faith?” That’s the big question in life. With your faith, you can do anything; you can move mountains; you can achieve great results. Faith is a tool. Use it. If you’d learn to use your faith, you’ll live triumphantly every day.

Stop crying for help! Use your faith to make your life glorious. With your faith, you can destroy cancer, diabetes or heart trouble. You can change the circumstances of your life! So, build your faith. Make a choice to feed your faith by learning and living on God’s Word.

The Bible is a compendium of divine revelations from God’s Prophets and Apostles; the message has been proven again and again. Boko Haram killed 13 district heads and many ward heads- Shehu of Borno

The Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Garbai Elkanemi has disclosed that 13 district heads and several ward heads (Bulamas) in his emirate have been killed by Boko Haram insurgents.

Speaking during a courtesy visit by a delegation of the Senate Committee on Special Duties led by Yusuf Abubakar Yusuf, representing Taraba Central, who were in Borno State to assess the performance of the North East Development Commission (NEDC), the Borno monarch noted that the Boko Haram crisis started in the state in July 2009 following a disagreement between the Izala and Yusufiya Islamic sects.

The crisis which degenerated into attacks of police stations and carting away of ammunition in police formations, has also displaced thousands of people who are now taking refuge in displaced persons’ camps across the state.

The Shehu of Borno who called for increased funding of the NEDC said;

Quote:“Gradually, they moved their operations from Maiduguri to local government area headquarters and other towns within the state. In the course of their operations, the emirate council lost about 13 district heads in addition to many ward heads, who were killed in their respective domains.

“The activities of the criminal elements had not deterred our district and village heads of being proactive in reporting their activities to the security agencies.

“I want to call for more funding for the commission to enable it facilitate the reconstruction of destroyed communities and intervention programmes toward empowering all IDPs. The call became necessary in view of the huge destruction and losses incurred in the state as a result of the crises in the last 11 years.”

Detailed introduction of imported scroll pump

Vortex pump is also called vortex pump, regeneration pump, etc. Because it is by the impeller rotation when the liquid vortex motion and suction and discharge of liquid, so called vortex pump. According to different types of vortex pump, it can be divided into single-stage vortex pump, centrifugal vortex pump, stainless steel vortex pump and other vortex pumps.

At present, the flow rate of general vortex pump is 0.2 ~ 27m3 / h. The working principle of general vortex pump is that when the prime mover drives the impeller to rotate in the pump through the shaft, the liquid enters the flow channel by suction, and is thrown into the annular flow channel by the centrifugal force of the rotating impeller, making the liquid rotate in the flow channel. Because each liquid particle is affected by centrifugal force, the liquid inside the impeller is greatly affected by the centrifugal force, while the liquid in the flow channel is less affected by the centrifugal force. Due to the different centrifugal force, the liquid will make longitudinal vortex motion. The liquid circulates through the channels between the blades repeatedly by means of longitudinal vortices (Fig. 1-35). Each time the liquid passes through the passage between blades, the lift is increased once, and finally the liquid is pressed out and discharged.

After the liquid is discharged, a local vacuum will be formed in the channel between the blades, and the liquid will continuously enter the impeller from the suction inlet and repeat the above motion process. In this way, the vortex pump suction liquid, while discharging liquid, so as to continue to work. From the working principle of general vortex pump, we can see that it is like the role of multi-stage centrifugal pump, each blade channel is equivalent to one stage, and the energy increases once the liquid passes through the channel. Therefore, the head of general vortex pump is 2-5 times larger than that of centrifugal pump under the same impeller diameter, so it is a kind of pump with high head and small flow. Compared with the centrifugal pump with the same performance, the vortex pump has small volume and light weight; compared with the positive displacement pump with the same head, its size is much smaller and its structure is much simpler. Therefore, the general vortex pump has the advantages of simple structure, compact, small volume, light weight and low cost.

Causes of cavitation in centrifugal pump

Causes of cavitation in centrifugal pump

Centrifugal pump is widely used in industry and daily life because of its simple operation, stable operation, high cost performance and easy maintenance and care. However, mechanical equipment, after a long time of continuous work, it is inevitable that equipment damage and failure problems, centrifugal pump cavitation phenomenon is one of the common faults of centrifugal pump.

Once cavitation occurs in the pump, its flow and head performance will not only decline, but also show obvious high noise and vibration. In serious cases, the liquid flow in the pump will be interrupted and can not work normally. Cavitation will also damage the flow passage parts of the pump, and even affect the pipeline system.

There are many reasons for cavitation phenomenon, such as centrifugal pump product quality problems, improper use of operators and so on. Before leaving the factory, the product will go through multiple procedures of quality inspection, so the influence ratio of human factors is greater. In the working state, the working environment and operating factors of centrifugal pump account for the vast majority of the proportion of centrifugal pump cavitation phenomenon.

Selection skills of high temperature oil pump

As a kind of high quality hot oil circulating pump and heat carrier pump, high temperature oil pump is an ideal matching pump in heat exchange equipment, which can transport high temperature liquid without solid particles.

The high temperature oil pump adopts self heat dissipation structure and changes the traditional water cooling structure, which makes the pump structure more reasonable, efficient and energy-saving, optimizes the product performance and greatly improves the reliability of use.

The selection of high temperature oil pump can be considered from five aspects: pipeline layout, operation and operation conditions, liquid property, liquid delivery capacity and unit head.

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

 TUESDAY 1ST SEPTEMBER.

LIVE FOR CHRIST

I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live (Deuteronomy 30:19).

There re Christians who are fretful about the rapture, uncertain about their eternal security. The Lord doesn't want us to live in such fear or anxiety. The truth is, eternal security is real for the one who as born again, but it at conditioned on your living the Christ-life, living in His righteousness until the end.

If, for example, someone who as been born again, changes his mind later about following Jesus, such a person is in trouble, because his eternal security with God is in jeopardy. When you're born again, you're born into God's presence; you live in God's presence. He's your Protector. He keeps you, and no one is able to pluck you out of His hand, according to the Scriptures.

However, life is full of choices. You are the one to make a choice to live for Him continually. When God guides us, He presents us with the options, and then He also tells us what to choose. But He doesn't force us in the choices we make, though He lets us understand the consequences of making the wrong choices .

What you must do, therefore, is to live according to His Word. That as the simplest thing ever. When you're born again, living for Christ is the most natural thing to do with your new nature in Christ. Living right is so natural to you that you have to be tempted to do wrong. This is also where the ministry of the Holy Spirit comes in. The Holy Spirit helps you live the Christian life, and with Him in your life, you never have to worry about missing your way.

Moreover, the Bible says Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy (Jude 1:24). As you live for the Lord, serving Him passionately with absolute conviction, He'll fulfil His purpose and ministry in your life.

CONFESSION

I live purposefully, fulfilling my ministry and calling in Christ Jesus. I refuse to allow anything take my attention away from the Lord and His eternal Kingdom. I am not slothful in business; I am fervent in spirit, serving the Lord, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I've received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the Gospel of the grace of God. Hallelujah!

Snake Pulled From A Russian Woman's Throat After It Crawled In While She Slept

Quote:WARNING - GRAPHIC CONTENT: The harrowing video shows stunned medics frantically remove the creature after it crawled in when the woman fell asleep in her garden

The is the petrifying moment a huge snake was pulled from a woman's throat after it crawled inside her while she was sleeping.

The young Russian decided to go to hospital after suddenly feeling unwell. She had fallen asleep in the garden of her home in Dagestan, Russia, and woke up to terrible pains in her stomach.

Little did she know at the time that the 4ft reptile had slithered inside her through her mouth.

Medics had no idea what had happened and she was put under general anaesthetic as doctors got down to work.

They only discovered what was wrong when they found the snake moving around - and eventually managed to prise it from her.

The footage of the horrifying operation shows the gloved hands of a male doctor removing the snake after inserting a tube down her throat. He is heard off camera saying: “Let’s see what this is”.

A female medic grabs the snake as it is pulled from the woman’s mouth. She jumps back startled and medical staff screams they realise the long length of the snake inside the patient.

The creature is then dropped into a medical bucket. It is unclear if the snake is still alive or how long it was inside the woman.

The Ministry of Health in Dagestan, a mountainous republic bordering the Caspian Sea, have not commented.

Locals say such incidents happen infrequently and older citizens advise the young not to sleep outside because of the risk of snakes slithering inside their mouths.

The woman patient was not identified, nor was the type of snake specified.

Unions Protest Against Planned Concession Of Four Airports (photos, Video)
User Avatar Forum: Market Place
Posted by: Edoman - 09-01-2020, 06:05 AM - Replies (1)

Quote:Workers under the aegis of the Association of Nigerian Aviation Professionals, (ANAP), and the National Air Transport Employees of Nigeria, (NUATE), have protested against the planned concession of four International Airports in the Country.

The workers, who held the protest at the Ilorin International Airport in Kwara State on Monday, lamented that previous concessions by the Federal Government has not yielded any fruit, and handing over the four airports in Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, and Kano to concessionaires, could lead to great loss to the country and loss of jobs to the people.

Recently, the Federal Government said it has commenced the concession process after the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, received an outline business case certificate of compliance from ICRC.

According to the Chairman, Association of Nigerian Aviation Professionals, Sunday Ugbeikwu, the move is not an acceptable one.

“The Federal Government in conjunction with Minister of Aviation wants to concession our airports and we are saying no, they cannot concession our patrimony, we inherited it, and it is not in our watch it will happen.”

While listing other facilities and infrastructures, he added that no concession has worked in Nigeria “because we are not transparent and they want to bring it into the aviation industry and we are saying no to the concession. They are not transparent in their policies.

“They said they want to draft our pensioners into PENCOM, for your information, FAAN is owing PENCOM to the tune of about N85 billion. If they do not clear those debts, they are mortgaging our destiny,” he expressed.

The Federal Government had stated that there is no going back on its plan to concession the four major airports in the country as it seeks to improve its safety and capacity.

According to Mr Sirika, the Government does not have money to put into these businesses and they don’t want to sell these facilities either.

But the Secretary, National Air Transport Employees of Nigeria, Abdulazeez Sanni, stressed that the move to single out the commercially viable airports will lead to job losses.

“We have 22 airports in the country, 4 are viable, most especially Lagos. Now they want to single out the viable ones and concession them, when the private sector takes over the airports that generate money and is now in the hands of concessionaires, where will they get money to pay staff?

“If these four have been taken over, who takes care of the remaining airports, who will pay salary? How is it possible that people will not lose their jobs?

“These are the things we want the whole world to know and to look into it. If you want to concession, there are options,” he urged.

If We Release Names, List Of Looters In NDDC, Nigeria Will Break — Committee
User Avatar Forum: General Discussion

Quote:Probe: Nigeria’ll break if we release list of looters in NDDC — IMC
—Accuses NASS of being terrified by a forensic audit
—Says NASS is using the budget to blackmail c’ttee
—Adds: N51m monthly imprest to MD’ office, not personal money

THE Interim Management Committee, IMC, of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, has said that if it releases the list of those involved in looting the commission, the country will break.

The IMC has also accused members of the National Assembly of plotting to stall the forensic audit ordered by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The Executive Director in charge of Projects at the NDDC, Dr. Cairo Ojougboh, who made the allegation while speaking to Vanguard in Abuja, said that Nigeria would be shocked if the commission releases the names and calibre of persons involved in contract scam in 2017 and 2019 especially among members of the National Assembly.

Recall that the Federal Executive Council, FEC, meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday last week approved the forensic auditing of about 12 thousand NDDC contracts.

But Dr. Ojougboh alleged that the recent pressure by the National Assembly to probe the activities of the IMC was instigated by the fear of the forensic audit.

He said that the mission of the IMC to the NDDC and the Niger Delta region is to ensure that every naira that had been put into the region through the commission is accounted for and vowed that the committee would dare every odd to ensure that the mission is accomplished, not minding whose ox is gored.

The NDDC Executive Director on Projects took a swipe at the National Assembly for condemning the N51 million monthly imprest for the office of the Acting Managing Director of the Commission and the N18 million imprest for his office, saying that such monies are not personal money but for the upkeep of the place especially in security.

He alleged that a highly placed member of the National Assembly from the South-South whom he accused working against the IMC has a cumulative imprest of about N100 million monthly without the kind of security challenges the NDDC management faces on daily basis.

According to him, “My MD feeds 100 policemen every day and in Port Harcourt as an executive of NDDC, you need security more than anything, till tomorrow, you know of it. When they are sending these policemen, the instruction is fed them, cater for them, that is what is in the letter the police hierarchy sent.

“So people are talking about 51 million of imprest for the MD, it is a security vote, it’s not for his personal pocket, the money does not go to the MD’s account. Myself, N18 million, it does not go to my account, it goes for security and other expenses and it is retired, there is no fraud in it.”

He said when President Buhari nominated them, and they arrived at NDDC office Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital, the first thing they noticed was that the two Chairmen (NDDC Committee) in the National Assembly, were the “De Facto management, managers and the executive of NDDC.”

He said as a former member of the National Assembly and a former liaison officer to the President, he has been in the Chambers and in all his life he has been in government since 1999 till date. “So I know what time of the day it is in politics and in governance. So we told them it cannot be business as usual, then they said we must leave.”

Asked what was responsible for the sudden interest of the National Assembly in the activities of the IMC, he said,” God bless you. It’s the forensic audit that the President has instituted because the National Assembly is culpable. At the end of the forensic audit, you will see members of the National Assembly…

“A Senator came and said that in the list of 2016 they brought, that he had only six contracts, I said no, that he had more. What he didn’t know is that we did not release the list for 2017 and the one for 2019. If we release it this country will break.”

Also asked why the country should break, he said, ”Oh because of the people looting, the calibre, the names and people looting the NDDC. And who engineers it? The Chairmen of the NDDC in the senate and House of Representatives in the National Assembly.

“So, when I explained, I told Mr. President to look, my job here is very simple. Mr. President looks, even if it is the only thing I achieve in my life to make sure that things are put right for the people of the Niger Delta to have the benefit of the NDDC. You can call me any name, you can do anything, you can say anything, I don’t care but I must do the right thing and the right thing is that no one penny will be missing.”

He further alleged that the National Assembly had planned to truncate the progress of the forensic audit through various means; first by using the probes by the committees and later by refusing to sign the budget, saying the refusal to sign the budget is an instrument of blackmail against the IMC.

He said, “Mark you, the National Assembly sabotaged, through the instrumentality of the Chairmen of the House and Senate, they sabotaged … if you give them to report, they will say you did not bring performance report. We brought everything that they’ve asked us to bring, but they used the budget as the instrument of blackmail.

“So they have blackmailed the nation and the Niger Delta in the last 20 years, that is why you see that you cannot go to the Niger Delta today and see ten kilometres of dualised roads done by the NDDC, no. What do you see, 500 meters here, 200 meters there and all of them one billion each”, he said.

He, however, said despite efforts of the National Assembly to muzzle the IMC and frustrate the forensic audit, the audit process had progressed as the first leg of the job had already been concluded and the second and final leg would soon kick-off.

He said, “It has started. Why are we here if it has not? The National Assembly wanted to truncate it, they said they will not pass our budget. You know the forensic audit is in two stages; we have procured the lead auditors and they are at work, they have all the files of all the contracts at the NDDC from inception till date.

“The second stage is to send the various auditors to each of the states, the National Assembly people know that’s where they are culpable so they stopped our budget, but the President said the forensic audit must continue that he will fund it.

“The lead auditors have finished their initial job, they have written their report, now each of the states will have one auditor looking at all the contracts and projects in it. That’s what we came here for today. These auditors will now go back to the states tomorrow, once we finish here today and the Council approves it.”

On the allegations of misappropriation against the IMC by the National Assembly committees, Ojougboh said the allegations were just another attempt at blackmail, explaining that the IMC had not awarded a single contract, but had been sorting out what he described as obligatory debts of the NDDC to its contractors.

“That’s the problem. The reason they are touting those multiple billions is just to give us a bad name, the multiple billions that are payments for obligatory debts. The payment is not for me, every year the NDDC spends as much as four to five hundred billion, it is the debt we met on ground.

“People have done their jobs, are we going to say they should not be paid? We have not awarded one contract, people are taking us to court every day. So we look at the projects, we clear them and we pay. They said we spent, but we didn’t spend, rather we paid historic debts”, he explained.

He further said, “They are talking about COVID-19 payment, the federal government is given every citizen N30,000 each, do you know how much federal government has spent? The CBN and many other corporations have been giving COVID-19 allowances, which are within their purview, just like NDDC did.

“In the National Assembly, each of the senators got N20 million, while the House of Representatives members got N15 million for COVID-19 from the National Assembly. They all received COVID19 allowances.”

Asked if the money spent by the commission on COVID-19 palliatives was budgeted for, he said the money was spent under emergency.

He said, “It was not budgeted for because it was an emergency, it’s allowed. It comes under emergency. The N30,000 per person that the federal government is giving to the citizen, was it budgeted for? Did anybody budget for COVID-19? Nobody budgeted for COVID-19. The SGF is the Chairman of the COVID-19 Task Force in Nigeria, was that task force budgeted for? It’s an emergency and it’s allowed.

“What we are saying is that Nigerians must appreciate Mr. President. Like when we got to the headquarter building, no one thought that building could be completed. Today we have completed it, we are inside it, but they will come to tell you that we are inside an uncompleted building, which is a very huge lie.

“We are inside the building that is where I go to work every day. It’s all propaganda by Omo-Agege (Deputy Senate President) and his cohorts just because they want to throw us out of the place because of politics and if we didn’t go there that headquarters building would not be completed.”

Quote:Explosion from adulterated Kerosene has burnt four family members, including a 300 Level Economics student of the University of Calabar (UNICAL) to death.

According to IgbereTV reports, the incident occurred on Monday, August 24, 2020 at Scanobo, Ikot Ekpo Community, Mile 9, Calabar Municipality local government area of Cross River State.

According to eyewitnesses, the 300 Level student identified as Mathias Nyong (class rep of the Department of Economics, Faculty of Social Sciences), was roasted alongside his in-law, Esuabana Thomas, 45, and his two siblings, Esua Thomas, 14 and Edet Thomas, 12, at about 9-10pm that same night.

One of the eyewitnesses who gave her name as Esther, said Nyong celebrated his birthday in church that same day and was trying to help one of his siblings with light so she can read for the West African Examination Council (WAEC) exams after a powe outage by the PHED.

“Mathias came back from the rehearsal that evening after celebrating his birthday in church and was trying to help his niece revise for her WAEC exams when PHED took the light at about 9pm.

“His sister (Mother of the House) then asked them to light kerosene lantern but one of them (the older nephew) refused. It was the little niece that went to pour kerosene into the lantern and as soon as she lit it, the lantern exploded and she threw it away and ran out of the house with fire on her leg.

“Their mother was already outside when the incident occurred but Nyong, his in-law, Esuabana and two of his siblings, Esua and Edet were inside the house. The in-law was already asleep.

“The fire gutted them, only one of them survived – he was rushed to the hospital but later died. The door was opened, I don’t know why they couldn’t escape the incident”, Esther said.

It was further learnt that the fire was put off by residents in the area but it was late as the four victims were already roasted inside the house.

At the time of filing this report, the Police Public Relations Officer in Cross River State, DSP Irene Ugbo, confirmed the incident, adding that, “we are investigating the matter”.

The People of 8 Miles have witnessed series of adulterated Kerosene explosion in recent times with families dying as a result of it.

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

MONDAY 31ST AUGUST.

IT’S ALL PART OF GOD’S PLAN

Do not conform yourselves to the standards of this world, but let God transform you inwardly by a complete change of your mind. Then you will be able to know the will of God—what is good and is pleasing to him and is perfect (Romans 12:2 GNB).

As a Christian, every person who comes into your world has a role to play, whether good or bad. You’ll surely come across different kinds of people in your journey of life. No matter how they relate with you, recognise that God has placed them along your path for your benefit.

It doesn’t make any difference whether they’re helpful or hostile; their relationship with you is part of God’s plan to promote you. Once you understand this, you’ll be happy and grateful to God for anyone who comes into your world. A playwright once said, “All the world is a stage, and all the men and women merely players; they have their entrances and their exits, and one man in his time plays many parts.”

Your only concern should be to please your heavenly Father. Don’t get concerned about the wrongs done to you; ignore the negative actions, comments or ill-treatments from others. Only respond in love to those who hurt or despitefully use you.

The highest and topmost quality of God’s character is living out His love in you, for the Bible says “…the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us” (Romans 5:5). You’re a testimony of the Father’s love, and your life is an outshining of that great love—unconditional and self-giving. Hallelujah!

CONFESSION

It makes no difference how I’m treated by anyone, I respond only in love and kindness, because the love of God has been shed in abundance in my heart by the Holy Spirit. Every day and in all circumstances, I’m living out that love in me that the Name of Jesus may be glorified. Amen.

FURTHER STUDY

Matthew 5:43-48
1 YEAR BIBLE READING PLAN:
1 Corinthians 15:1-34 & Proverbs 5-7

2 YEAR BIBLE READING PLAN:
1 Thessalonians 2:1-9 & Jeremiah 17

#TALKINGSESSION

KINDLY SAY THESE WORDS OUT LOUD.

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for choosing me to know Your will. I am rooted and grounded in Your Word, producing fruits of righteousness, for Your glory.

There’s no cause for stumbling in my path because Your Word lightens my way, and in my path, there’s no darkness, but life, peace, and success.

I have the fullness of God; I am complete in Him, which is the head of all principality and power. I have the capacity to contain the fullness of the Spirit; I carry God’s maximum load.

I am unconquerable! I am not a mere man; my humanity has been supplanted by the life and nature of God.

I am God’s living tabernacle; when I move, the Spirit of God moves in me. My hands have become His hands, and my fingers, His fingers; I am completely immersed in Him and He in me.

He sees through my eyes, talks through my mouth, and moves with my body. He changes lives through me. Hallelujah! Of His fullness have I received, and grace for grace.

Everything that’s of deity in Christ Jesus; in quality and potentialities has been granted to me. I have received all of His power, glory, might, strength, knowledge, and wisdom -everything that He represents, everything that is contained in Him.

I live every day with the consciousness that I am replete with God; full of Him. I am an associate of the God-kind. As He is, so am I in this world.

Thank You, Father, for being the portion of my inheritance; I boldly declare that the lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places and I have a goodly heritage.

I live and walk in wealth, health, and prosperity even as goodness and mercy follow me all the days of my life, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. Hallelujah!

God bless you
